In view of the disaster in Bento Rodrigues, Mariana’s district, in November 2015, with the Fundão dam collapse, operated by mining company Samarco, this study aimed to define the strategy adopted by the company to manage its image after the occurrence. The research method chosen was Case Study, used to identify the company conduct in a controversial situation after a catastrophe of unprecedented magnitude. The purpose was to understand and analyze the way Samarco has communicated with external audiences and has tried to change the negative perception which was created as a result of the event
